(Newark, New Jersey - May 22, 2007) - The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) has awarded its Marketing Communications Port Services Guide publishing contract to Commonwealth Business Media, d.b.a. Seaports Publications Group (SPG). SPG (www.seaportsinfo.com) specializes in the full production of port directories, handbooks, magazines and pocket guides. The four-year contract has a one-year renewal option.
The directory will feature dedicated editorial content, terminal specifications and verified data on businesses that service the port, sorted by industry sector, in alpha order. Additionally, organizations seeking to gain exposure and visibility to this target market will advertise and brand their company, its products/services and unique selling propositions. SPG, based in Newark, NJ, will design and produce 5,000 PANYNJ print directories and 5,000 corresponding CDs for 2008. SPG will also develop and maintain the guide's searchable website.
The directories will be unveiled at Port Industry Day in October 2007 and distributed to PANYNJ tenants, prospects, ocean carriers, freight forwarders and shippers, to name a few. The corresponding CD will be used by the Port's executive and sales teams, and distributed at Port Industry Briefing events and trade shows in North America, as well as key global regions.
Ray Venturino, SPG publisher, stated, "We are proud to have been awarded this contract for our local Port Authority. As custom publishers dedicated to the seaport and association sectors for many years, we have a solid infrastructure in place to meet the needs of the PANYNJ. Our data verification team, editorial and design network and advertising sales professionals are strongly connected to the pulse of the market. We look forward to helping the PANYNJ deliver its key messages to the vast audience it serves."
